We got up as soon as a hint of light was showing and got going to our first stop for the day: Goðafoss. It was a small hike, maybe .5km to the viewing platform, but I felt it was worth it. It was still a little dark, but there was enough light to get some decent pictures. After this small stop, we made our way to Akureyri. Not many people travel all the way up here, but we sure did and we made a few small stops in town before we went a bit further north. We hit the northern most town, just 60 miles from the Arctic Circle, took a few pictures, and then went back to Akureyri.
We stopped in town for decent late lunch, then walked around the town a bit to get some infamous pics (The heart stop lights, and the Yule Cat sculpture for Christmas that was out). We then back tracked a little from this morning to go visit GeoSea as our choice hot spring for the night before making a nearly 3 hour drive to our campsite of the night in Blonduous.
