Zoo day! We went and visited the London Zoo, my favorite zoo ever to date. The enclosures are spacious and they have several “open” exhibits where the animals roam freely around (kind of like when you go to see butterflies, but with like, monkeys…). The London Zoo is large and has 2 parts, one of which requires a tunnel to get across the street to the other part of the zoo. While they didn’t have any leopards or red pandas, the size and open exhibits are what truly make this zoo amazing and sets it apart from many others around the world. Towards the end of our zoo day, it started pouring rain (as one would expect in England) but that didn’t slow us down. We found our commute to the London Eye. We were a bit early, but still was able to get on as lines were shorter due to the recent downpour. I loved the London Eye last time. It gave great panoramic views of the city, including a fantastic view of Great Ben (which still had scaffolding all around it last time I visited). It was nice a sunny due to it being post shower which made for great pictures and scenery. By the time we unloaded from the eye, the lines were huge. After the London Eye we hit the local market and grabbed some small snacks to tie us over for the evening since it was going to be another very early day tomorrow for us. We didn’t see Buckingham Palace or many of the other famous landmarks this time around since we’ve seen them before and we had other things we wanted to do. Maybe next time we can actually go into Big Ben. Tomorrow is Iceland, including a trip to the Blue Lagoon and then a day trip around south Iceland on Wednesday. 8 countries down, 2 more to go!
