Late posting (yesterday is when we arrived in Rome). Been crazy busy and had an early morning today so didn’t get the chance to update last night. ANYWAYS
We had an early morning train fro
Naples to Rome. The train took about 3 hours and there were no delays or anything. From there we took a train directly to Frascati where we enjoyed our first cooking class: Pasta! We learned the history of Frascati Wine and the family run business and then taught how to make pasta from scratch (no, it did not include a kitchen aid mixer attachment) and different types of sauces to pair with it all. Tried black truffle, wasn’t a huge fan, but at least I tried it. Afterwards we took the train back to Rome Central and headed to our hotel (which was a close walk). We checked in and took a small nap before our late night food tour. We started around 1930 and was introduced many different types of bruschett, cheeses, and meats that paired well with a sparkling white wine (I’m pretty sure I drank an entire bottle on my own).

After our first stop, we headed to where the “best pizza in the world” was created and it was probably the best I’ve had. Our next stop was a little “snack” where we tried some more meats and cheese with red wine. I liked some of it, but not all of it. Lastly, we got some pasta, sorbet, and tiramisu all of which was amazing. I got the gnocchi pasta with a white sauce paired with a white wine and it was my favorite meal so far. It was a fantastic start to Rome and a great way to broaden my horizons a but more early into this trip.
