Today is our day to go to the Top of Europe: Jungfraujoch. We got to sleep in last 0700 today, so that was a treat. We packed up, checked out, and headed to Interlaken to meet our tour group for our day trip to the Jungfrau. This is the highest reachable point in all of Europe, hence the other name “Top of Europe.” We took a long cable car (With amazing views) up to the next train, where we adventured into the caves to go up even further. We made a 5 min stop on the way up to see a giant glacier (which was not visible due to the intense fog/sleet) and then continued onward further up. You could actually feel the difference in the altitude and almost had one of our group members pass out. We were able to see bits here and there, but unfortunately (like Cliffs of Moher) getting a great day is hit or miss. We also got to go to the Lindt Museum at the top and see the Ice Palace and Sphinx Observatory (the only one opened year round for scientific study). After we got back to normal elevation, we drove to our hotel (cow themed) and got all checked in before venturing out to see the tallest free falling waterfall in all of Switzerland. We hiked up the small trail and got some amazing views (and a free shower). Overall, it wasn’t a half bad day. If tomorrow is better, we’re going to spend a chunk of change to go back up and see everything. Hopefully we’ll see some more waterfalls, too.

Beautiful pictures! I hope the rest of the visit is less stressful than your first day in Switzerland. You should hit the slopes while you're there. Skiing the Alps just might be a little better than the hills in Midwestern U.S. 🙂
